So I was flipping my way through Egg magazine for some summer inspiration when I came across an interesting arrangement on the head scarf. Normally when I am being lazy I might think about having the head scarf worn in a manner pictured below.
Quite simple really. Kind of like a pirate. I found it cool to realise that actually you can take something as ordinary as a head scarf and give it a bit of a gyaru head scarf arrangement twist.
What do guys reckon? Pretty clever huh? I like how the smaller reduced size of the scarf, it doesn’t take over the whole look. Your eyes notice the color but it isn’t drawn just to the scarf.
How To Arrange A Gyaru Head Scarf
Luckily there where some instructions, however I bet if I gave you 10 minutes you could probably figure out how to arrange the scarf yourself. I was surprised at how really easy the whole process was. If you don’t happen to have any head scarfs, they can be had for about 700en – 2000en a piece in Japan. The one that the model is using above is actually only 630en… which is the price of lunch for most of us!
Gyaru Head Scarf Instructions
The following instructions are originally from the Egg August 2011 issue.
- Grab the scarf and wrap it around your heard beginning from the back
- Bring the ends around to the front of your head. You should have equal lengths on both the right and left hand side
- Cross over the scarf. Such that the left side goes right and down and the right side goes left and up. That is, rotate the ends of the scarf clockwise. You should end up with a cross pattern on your head.
- Bring the left and right ends behind your head and tie off. You may want to tuck the ends back into the scarf.
Finished! Enjoy a simple arrangement on the head scarf, Gyaru style.
