So I was flipping my way through Egg magazine for some summer inspiration when I came across an interesting arrangement on the head scarf. Normally when I am being lazy I might think about having the head scarf worn in a manner pictured below. Quite simple really. Kind of like a pirate. I found it cool to realise that actually you can take something as ordinary as a head scarf and give it a bit of a gyaru head scarf arrangement twist. Incoming search terms:how [...]

Hey guys (I suppose gals or should I say… Hey Gyaru Gals!) Sometimes its hard to keep up with all the stuff they come out with in Japan. Which is important because I get bored of a certain look or a certain way of putting up my hair very quickly. Inspiration is the order of the day. You can actually find lots of Gyaru Japanese magazines for download right on the internet, in fact when I do find them I put up a link so [...]

Do you know how to style your hair to get the most airy and gorgeous gyaru hair curls imaginable? If not (who does?) I have taken the liberty to re upload it on youtube and subtitled all the video captions! From the video here are some tips to achieve the best [...]

Another basic curly Gyaru hair style with a little twist or lack of twist (pun!) That’s right, horizontal curls. Basically you hold your curler straight and level to the floor when curling to create a flat/horizontal curl. By doing this you will get softer curls with much bigger volume in your style. This is actually a very nice tone down gyaru hair curl look and provides just that little change on a basic formula to change things up a little bit and keep it fresh. [...]

Ok, back to Gyaru Hair basics with this one, no matter what kind of fashion coordination you are trying to pull of gentle curls always looks great! Basic Gyaru Hair Style Step 1. Separate the back into 2 portions and clip the top up. Separate the bottom portion into 6 equal parts. Step 2. Starting from one side, curl a bundle clock wise then curl the next bundle anti-clockwise then switch back clockwise etc. That is, the “MIX” curls technique. The model uses a 32mm [...]

Who doesn’t love beautifully straight hair? It looks like a deceptively easy hair styles to keep and set but looks can be deceiving. You could always go for a chemical straighten of course, but to set it still requires some “Intervention”. If you ever hesitated wondering if you needed that hair straightener this is the reason to get it, just make sure you spend a decent amount on it, otherwise it might not be too hot, pull your hair etc… Style Tip: Brush your hair [...]

This is one of the curly hair cuts that are pretty standard for gyaru hair. You will need a 19mm curling iron, to set the curls the right size. The style guide is taken from Ranzuki August 2010 magazine. Style Tip: Seperate your hair into small bundles then twist it (ala step 2) around your finger before setting your curling iron on it. To finish of, just make sure you seperate the curls to create depth and spray to set finish. curly hair cuts kurukurumaki [...]

Ok time to set your Gyaru hair, here is a hair styling tutorial from EGG magazine. Just follow the pictures you should be fine, but here are some tips! – Use a curling iron (obviously) to make life easier, you could get away with just plastic hair rollers and a hair dryer but it will just take longer and not look as good. – Start from the top (even though picture has the girl curling from the bottom to top) that way you can insert a plastic hair roller in to keep [...]
